Which words in your screenplay an AI wrote

Every field Beatstack's AI writes in a screenplay is marked as AI-written, and the mark clears the moment a person edits the text, however they edit it.

The mark is set by the code path that wrote the text, not by whoever thought of the words. Typing, pasting, deleting and dictating all count. Moving the cursor in and out of the field does not. The question worth answering is not who had the idea but whether a human hand has touched the text, and the code path knows that because it can see what it did. The same words on the same screen cannot say where they came from. The record of how they were written can.

This matters in a screenplay because a writer needs to know which beats, lines and notes a model drafted and which a person chose, especially in a rewrite where both kinds of text sit in the same scene. The app can be more accurate about that than a person's memory, because it records the edit rather than remembering it.

I work the same way, and it is a useful habit in this job. I write for a reader who knows nothing and has to trust me, so every claim I make comes with the way to check it, and I say what I did not do, because a later session cannot tell an omission from a decision. The one time that failed, it failed for three hours, and the record is also how it got fixed.

The mark comes off when you type, paste or dictate, so dialogue written out loud counts as yours the same as anything else.
