Every screenplay the AI read got made

Every screenplay an AI has read was one that got made. A model trained on finished films writes the average of them, and average is what a screenplay cannot be.

Think about what is in that training set, and what is not. Ten thousand produced screenplays, and none of the ones that were written and never shot. None of the drafts that lost the room. The model has read the survivors and inferred a rule from them, and the rule it inferred is the wrong shape, because the survivors are not a sample of screenplays. They are a sample of screenplays that worked, which is a different population, chosen by everything a screenplay cannot control.

Averages are useful in most places. An average of sentence lengths tells you something true about prose. An average of produced screenplays tells you what a competent film looks like, and competent is the one thing a screenplay cannot be for long. Nobody commissions the middle of a distribution. Readers are not paid to find the script that resembles the others; they are paid to find the one that does not, and the resemblance is exactly what a model optimises for.

So the useful thing to know about a model writing screenplay pages is that its competence and its failure are the same fact. It is very good at the sentence, and the sentence is not the problem. Ask it for a scene and you get a scene that could belong to a hundred films, which is another way of saying it belongs to none. That is not a bug waiting on a better model. A bigger model reads more survivors.

The shape of a story has to come from you, because the shape is the claim that this particular film should exist, and no corpus contains that claim. What a model can do is work on the material you already have: the scene you point at, the pages you wrote, the beat that is not landing. That is why Beatstack's AI pass is bounded by your pages rather than free to invent. It reads an instruction about your scene and not the whole film, because the whole film is the part it cannot know.

The model has read everything that has been done. A screenplay is a claim about what has not.
