Screenplay page count: what is planned and what is written

A card reading "12 pp." never said whether those pages were written or only planned. Screenplay page count is two numbers, and most boards show one.

The fix is a mark rather than more words. A blank corner means plan. A dog-ear means at least one line of it exists. The number reads "4 / 6.5" only when planned and written disagree, and written leads the moment there is any writing.

The reason page count matters at all is that a page of screenplay is about a minute of film, so it is the currency the whole plan is priced in. Underneath, one function now builds the screen-reader text, the tooltip, the export line and the AI's page budget from the same sentence. "Pages 12 to 15" in the sidebar and "6.5 pages" in the export used to look like two facts. They were the same fact at two moments.

A screenplay lives between those two moments: what you planned and what is on the page. Keeping both numbers, and showing which one you are looking at, is what a board card's page target does before the writing starts.
